The organ is placed in a refrigerated environment and under pressure while a nutrient fluid is circulated through its arterial complex. The gas utilized for pressurizing the environment of the organ is bio-chemically inert and serves as a carrier of oxygen which is absorbed by the nutrient, the latter being subjected to the influence of the pressurizing gas.
