Glassy alloys containing iron, cobalt and nickel plus molybdenum and/or tungsten, together with low boron content, are disclosed. The glassy alloys of the invention consist essentially of about 5 to 10 atom percent boron, about 5 to 15 atom percent molybdenum and/or tungsten and the balance essentially iron, cobalt and nickel plus incidental impurities. Each of the iron group metals must be present in an amount of at least about 5 atom percent. The glassy alloys evidence hardness values of at least about 1000 Kg/mm.sup.2, ultimate tensile strengths of at least about 350 Kpsi and crystallization temperatures of at least about 445.degree. C.
