PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste incinerator capable of improving control accuracy of temperature of an object to be incinerated during combustion to maintain in a scope of desired temperature stably, reducing dioxin and heavy metal included in burned ash, and suppressing deterioration of facility.SOLUTION: This waste incinerator has wind boxes 27, 28, 29 in which air for burning the object W1 to be incinerated conveyed on each stoker step 11, 12, 13 is supplied, a plurality of fire grates 32 provided stepwise at each stoker step 11, 12, 13 and moving forward and backward relatively to convey the object W1 to be incinerated, a temperature detector 15 buried in the vicinity A of a surface of the fire grate to measure temperature of the fire grate 32 at a buried position A, and a combustion temperature controller 19 which determines combustion temperature of the object W1 to be incinerated and adjusts operation condition of the waste incinerator 1 in accordance with the relation obtained in advance between the results of temperature measurement by the temperature detector 15 and combustion temperature of the object W1 to be incinerated based on the results of temperature measurement by the temperature detector 15.
