SOLUTION: The charging voltage of a capacitor 224 for light emission of a xenon tube 11 is controlled in accordance with ambient temperature of a printing material detected by a temperature sensor 130, the ambient humidity of a printing material detected by a humidity sensor 132, the size of a printing material detected by a stamp size detection sensor 140, the capacity rank of the capacitor 224 for light emission stored by EEPROM 216 and the light emitting performance rank of the xenon tube 11 indicated by an amount of light indication part 48. Thus it is possible to apply an appropriate amount of light complying with the size of the printing material regardless of the capacity rank of the capacitor 224 for light emission, the light emission performance rank of the xenon tube 11 and the ambient temperature/humidity of the printing material.
