Locking - followers covers. - A device for locking the covers of a loose-leaf binder in their adjusted position comprises a channel-shaped housing D at each end of the top clamping-bar A and a mating plate C at each end of the bottom bar B. Each plate C is enclosed on its fourth side by a sliding latch F which moves in slots transversely of the housing D and is provided with a laterally-extending bevelled tooth F which engages ratchet teeth C on the edge of the plate C. The latch F is spring- pressed into engaging position and is released by a thumb-piece F, stops F, F being provided to limit its movement. The housings D are attached to the top bar A by legs on the side flanges D, D. The clamping-bars A, B are covered with leather &c., which extends across as shown in Fig. 1 and forms hinges A, B for the covers.
